In addition to the extra low profile, the FlatDeck system enables either a partial or complete furl of the sail depending on weather conditions.
As implied by the name, Facnor’s FlatDeck furling systems provide the absolute lowest profile headsail furlers possible. This unique, powerful furling system is fitted with a webbing and provides safe and easy headsail furling: no reefing line overriding and a massively improved torque. The extra low profile of the FlatDeck drum also provides the sail advantage of increased luff length.
The FlatDeck webbing does not stretch and is UVresistant, made of either polyester (FD 90-190) or Dyneema® (FD 210-310) as necessitated by the associated loads. In heavy conditions, FlatDeck furlers allow for an efficient headsail reef that maintains proper sail shape, made possible by a 360° rotating tack fitting which effectively takes the draft out of the middle of the sail.
